Parks & Outdoor RecreationLake D'Arbonne State ParkOne of the crown jewels of Union Parish is the beautiful Lake D'Arbonne, a man-made body that stretches and slithers for 15,250 acres. Figured as the largest lake in northeast Louisiana, the lake offers fisherman excellent opportunities for bass, white perch and bream. Fishing piers and boat docks attract visitors to the lake where people can fish, water ski, jet ski, or just enoy the beauty of the area. Special activities are planned throughout the year as well as great fishing and water sports. Located on Evergreen Road off Scenic Highway 2, the park is open year-round to day visitors. For those wishing to reserve a campsite or cabin, reservations must be made with the Office of State Parks by calling toll free 1-877-226-7652. Upper Ouachita/D'Arbonne National Wildlife Refuges Bordered by Arkansas to the north and the scenic Ouachita River to the east, there are plenty of opportunities for fishing, boating, sailing, swimming and waterskiing.
